Tim Yoder, the President and CIO formed a technology consulting company in
1993. He focused originally on Microsoft
Access database development for small businesses in the community and ran the
business from his home as Yoder’s Computer Solutions. In 1996 he met Russ Rupp, Vice President and
CFO, as they both are professors at Goshen College.
In 1998 they combined their information technology management experience in the
automotive supplier industry with accounting management experience in the
recreational vehicle and public accounting industries and began working
together on various projects under the business name of Custom Business
Solutions (CBSI). It soon became quite clear that this combination of skills
coupled with teaching and training skills filled a market niche in this
community.
It was also Goshen College which led Tim and Russ through the “four year interview
process” to find their third partner, Ryan Britsch, COO, who joined the company
in 2003. Ryan brought experience in
information technology management and manufacturing systems. His addition to the company added stability
to the day-to-day operations and to project management allowing the company to
continue to grow.
In 2001, the business name was changed to Solution Source to represent the focus
of the company—to provide effective solutions to businesses looking to solve
their technology pain points.The focus
was not just on developing custom solutions, but on creating personalized
solutions. Learning the goals and
objectives of the client, then choosing a software solution that fit their
needs, became the business model for Solution Source.
Solution Source continues to be a growing company of
business professionals who not only understand technology, but also make
technology work for any size business.
The group currently has five additional employees on staff.
